The terms for using Best Birmingham: opinion not advice, owner-managed pages, paid plans, acceptable use, liability and the law that governs them.
About these terms
Using Best Birmingham (bestbirmingham.uk), which publishes free lists of Birmingham businesses, is subject to these terms, and carrying on past this page means you accept them.
Editorial opinion, not advice
Every list expresses the editors’ view of which businesses nearby merit a look, and in which order. Nothing here counts as advice of a legal, medical, financial or technical kind, and nothing promises anything about the work, safety, prices or availability of any firm.
We don’t do the work
Best Birmingham carries out no work, treats no patients, quotes no prices, makes no bookings and accepts no payment from readers. Any arrangement is made directly with the business, along with whatever contract, warranty or finance goes with it.
How the lists are made
We build the lists from public information, from what customers say, from what each business shows of itself and from the criteria explained under ‘How we select’. Pro adds a fuller page for a business, and Top lifts it into the first three positions of a list it already belonged to. Each is labelled and is no verdict on the work.
Confirm the details
We look at the lists again now and then, yet details move on. Before relying on anything, phone the business, get a quote in writing and look up whatever registration the work calls for.
Pages claimed by owners
An owner who claims a listing confirms they are authorised to run it and that all they add is correct, legal and fair to readers. We may amend or take down whatever is not. Before paying for Pro or Top, an owner sees the price and renewal terms in the business area, and Stripe handles the payment itself.
Fair use
Please keep within the law when you use the site: no wholesale downloading of the lists with software, no attempts to enter areas closed to the public, no impersonation and no false details.
Our content
Our text, our method of choosing and ordering businesses, the look of the pages and the Best Birmingham name are protected, and we own them or hold a licence. You may quote briefly if you link to us, and anything more needs written permission.
Liability and law
We do not seek to exclude any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Otherwise we accept no responsibility for the work, sales or advice of firms on the lists, or for the websites we link to. Disputes about these terms are decided under English and Welsh law, though a consumer living elsewhere in the UK may also use their local courts. The terms may change, and the wording in force is the one shown when you visit.
